Mixed Dal Kheer/Senaga Pesara Payasam/ hana Dal And Moong Dal Kheer–Payasam Recipes
Ingredients
- 2 sp Chana Dal
- 2 sp Moong Dal
- 1/2 cup grated Jaggery
- 1 pinch Elaichi Powder
- fistful chopped Dry Coconut Pieces
- few Dry Fruits
- 2 sp Ghee
Instructions
- Place the dals(chana dal, moong dal) in a bowl, wash well and pressure cook for three whistles. Once done remove the lid and mix well.
- In a bowl add jaggery, 1/4 cup of water and make a thick syrup, then strain the syrup into the cooked dal and mix well, add elaichi powder and cook on low flame for a couple of mins.
- Heat ghee in a small pan fry cashews, coconut slivers and pour over the mixed dal payasam and mix well, at this stage turn off the flame. Now chana dal + moong dal payasam/kheer is ready to offer as naivedyam for Goddess Lakshmi Devi. After that transfer into serving bowls and serve, it can be served hot or cold.
