Alu Double Beans Gravy Curry/Double Beans Potato Gravy

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cooked Aloo pieces
  • 1/2 cup Double Beans
  • 2 Onions chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes chopped
  • 1 sp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 sp Coriander Powder
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 sp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1/2 sp Sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 sp Oil
  • Coriander Leaves

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak double beans for 8 hours or over night.
  2. Pressure cook the beans for 5 to 6 whistles and keep aside.
  3. Open cooker when it has cooled down and strain away the water.
  4. Keep away the stock/water for curry, grind chopped onion, tomatoes into a fine paste.
  5. Heat oil in a khadai add cumin seeds and fry, then add ginger garlic paste and stir.
  6. Now add ground onion tomato paste and stir, fry until the raw smell goes.
  7. Add salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, sugar and mix well.
  8. Add cooked double beans, potato pieces, red chilli, garam masala powders and mix well.
  9. Add stock or 1/2 cup of water to it, let it cook for a couple of mins.
  10. Once done add chopped coriander leaves and turn off the flame.
  11. Aloo double beans gravy curry is ready, serve with roti or puris.
