Aratikaya Masala Kura / Raw Banana Masala Curry

Ingredients

  • 2 nos Aratikayalu/Raw Plaintain
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 2 Onions chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes chopped
  • 1 sp Ginger Garlic paste
  • 1 pinch Turmeric powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli powder
  • 2 Cloves
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry leaves
  • 3 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash, peel aratikayalu and cut into small pieces.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add popu and fry, when they splutter add cloves, ginger garlic paste and fry.
  3. Add curry leaves, green chillies, onions and fry for a couple of mins on medium flame.
  4. Then add chopped tomatoes and stir, cook on low flame with cover until soft.
  5. Now add aratikaya mukkalu, salt, turmeric powder and mix well, sprinkle little water and stir, let it cook with cover. Keep stirring now and then.
  6. When done add red chilli powder and stir, continue to cook for a couple of mins.
  7. Now Aratikaya masala kura/raw banana masala curry is ready, transfer into a serving bowl,
  8. serve hot with rice or rotis.
