Spinach Raw Tamarind Dal / Palak Chintakaya Pappu - Dal Recipes
Ingredients
- 1 small cup Toor Dal
- 1 cups chopped Spinach/Pala kura
- 5 - 6 Raw Tamarind/Pachi Chintakayalu
- 2 Green Chillies chopped
- 1 Onion chopped
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1 Red Chilli crocked
- 1 pinch Inguva
- few Curry Leaves
- 2 sp Oil

Instructions
- Wash and chop chintakayalu into small pieces and keep aside, wash toor dal and add chopped spinach, green chillies, onion and set aside.
- Pressure cook chopped chintakayalu and toor dal mixture in two separate bowls, when done allow to cool completely. Then take extract from cooked chintakayalu and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, raw tamarind extract and cook for a couple of mins. Now add cooked palak dal mixture, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and mix well, let it cook for 5-6 mins on medium flame.
- Now spinach raw tamarind dal/palak chintakaya pappu is ready, turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot with rice or roti.
