Sabudana Kheer / Sago Kheer / Saggubiyyam Payasam - Festival Recipes
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Sago/Javvarisi/Saggubiyyam
- 1 cup Sugar
- 2 cups Milk
- 1 pinch Elaichi Powder
- few Cashew Nuts
- few Raisins
- 2 sp Ghee
Instructions
- Wash and soak sabudana in half cup of water for 30 mins and keep aside, heat ghee in a small frying pan toast the cashew nuts, raisins and keep aside.
- Boil 11/2 cup of water in a thick bottomed bowl, add one sp ghee into it, then add soaked sabudana and mix well, keep stirring carefully, so that it does not stick to the bottom.
- Cook on low flame until all the sago turns transparent then add sugar and mix well, let it cook for a few mins.
- Then add milk, elaichi powder, fried cashew nuts, raisins and mix well, simmer for 1 min and then turn off the flame.
- Now sabudana kheer is ready to offer as naivedyam for Goddess lakshmi devi, it can be served hot or cold.
