Seema Vankaya Tomato Pappu / Chayote Tomato Dal / Chow Chow Dal Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 small cup Toor Dal
- 1 Seema Vankaya/Chow Chow
- 1 Onion chopped
- 1 Tomato chopped
- 2 Green Chilli chopped
- 1 pinch Turmeric powder
- 1 sp Red Chilli powder
- 1 inch Tamarind flake
- 1 pinch Hing
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 sp Mustard seeds
- 1/2 sp Cumin seeds
- 1 Red Chilli crocked
- 2 sp Oil
- Curry leaves

Instructions
- Wash, peel and cut chow chow into small pieces. Wash toor dal well and place all the chopped vegetables and pressure cook along with tamarind flake. Once done turn off the flame and allow it to cool, after that remove the lid and mash it well.
- Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, cooked and mashed dal mix and stir well. Add in turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and mix it very well.
- Let it cook for 5 mins on medium flame. When done turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl, now seema vankaya pappu/chow chow tomato dal is ready to serve, serve with rice and rotis.
