Birakaya Perugu Pachadi / Ridge Gourd Yogurt Chutney - Raita recipes
Ingredients
- 1 small cup chopped Ridge Gourd/Birakaya
- 1 small cup Yogurt/Curd
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- 1/4 sp Red Chilli Powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 sp Coriander Seeds
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 sp Methi Seeds
- 1 sp Urad Dal
- 2 Red Chillies
- 1/2 sp Oil
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1/2 sp Urad Dal
- 1 Red Chilli crocked
- 1 pinch Hing
- 2 sp Oil
- few Curry Leaves

Instructions
- Wash, peel ridge gourd and chop into small pieces and keep aside. Heat 1/2 sp oil in a pan add powder ingredients and fry till they turn light brown in color, then remove from the pan and allow it to cool, once done grind into a powder and keep aside.
- Mean time , heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, chopped ridge gourd pieces and stir. Add turmeric powder, little salt and cook with cover, if needed sprinkle a little water and cook till done, stirring in between. Then add 1 sp ground powder, red chilli powder and cook for 30 secs, then remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool for a few mins.
- Put yogurt in a bowl, add in enough salt and whisk, then add cooked ridge gourd mixture and mix well, now tasty tasty birakaya perugu pachadi/ridge gourd yogurt chutney is ready to serve.
