Green Papaya Dal Recipe / Pachi Boppayi Pappu / Raw Papaya Dal Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 small cup Toor Dal
- 1 cup chopped Papaya Pieces
- 2 Green Chillies chopped
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
- 2 sp tamarind Paste
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1 Red Chilli crocked
- 1 pinch Inguva / Hing
- chopped Coriander Leaves
- Curry Leaves
- 2 sp Oil

Instructions
- Wash, peel the skin of the raw papaya and cut it into half, take off the seeds in the middle of the boppayi and cut it into small pieces.
- Wash toor dal and pressure cook along with chopped papaya and green chilies for 3 whistles and turn off the stove.
- Let it leaves for some time, remove the lid and mash the cooked dal mixture.
- Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add inguva, curry leaves, coriander leaves and stir for 30 sec.
- Add cooked dal, salt, turmeric, red chilli powder, tamarind paste and mix it well, let it cook for couple of mins and turn off the flame.
- Now raw papaya dal is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve with rice or roti.
