Ingredients

  • 1 cup Bottle Gourd pieces
  • 1 Tomato chopped
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric powder
  • 1″ Tamarind flake
  • 5 Green chillies
  • Salt to taste

For Popu :

  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

 

Instructions

  • Soak tamarind in little water and keep aside.
  • Take a microwave bowl add bottle gourd pieces, green chillies with  1/2 cup of water and cook on high for 3 mins.
  • Next add tomato pieces and again set for 3 mins and cook. cook them on stove top also.
  • After 3 mins take away the bowl allow it cool.
  • When it cool grind the soaked tamarind, green chillies, salt and turmeric powder.
  • Now add tomato, bottle gourd mixture and blend, then add in onion pieces and grind slightly.
  • After that transfer to a bowl and keep aside. Heat oil in a small frying pan and add popu for fry.
  • Once done add the fried popu to ground chutney and mix well.
  • Now spicy sorakaya pachadi/bottle gourd chutney is ready to serve, serve it with rice and roti
