Brown Lobia Tomato Gravy/Brown Bobbarlu Tomato Gravy Curry/Tomato Alasandala Gravy Curry
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Red Cowpeas/Brown Bobbarlu/Alasandalu
- 1/2 sp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1/2 sp Garam Masala Powder
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
- 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1 pinch Hing
- 2 sp Fresh Cream
- 2 sp chopped Coriander Leaves
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 2 Tomatoes chopped
- 1 Onion chopped
- 2 Green Chillies chopped

Instructions
- Wash and soak red cowpeas for 3-4 hours and then cook them with enough water in pressure cooker for 3 whistles.
- Meanwhile, combine and grind paste ingredients into a smooth paste and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds, hing and fry for 30 secs then add in ginger garlic paste and fry.
- Then add ground tomato puree, turmeric powder and cook for a couple of mins, now add cooked brown bobbarlu along with its water and mix well.
- Add salt, garam masala powder, chopped coriander leaves and cook for 5 mins on low flame, while stirring occasionally.
- When done add cream and stir, turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl.
- Now brown bobbarlu tomato gravy curry is ready to serve, serve with roti or paratha.
