Carrot Bobbarlu Curry / Carrot Alasandalu Kura / Carrot Brown Cowpeas Curry

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped Carrot
  • 1/4 cup Soaked Bobbarlu/Lobia
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 1 Green Chilli chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 2 crushed Garlic Cloves
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 chana dal
  • 1/4 sp urad dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • few Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Pressure cook chopped carrot , soaked cowpeas in two separate bowls for 2 whistles and then turn off the flame and allow it to cool.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, chopped onion, crushed garlic, green chillies and stir.
  3. Stir-fry until the onions are translucent, then add cooked carrot and stir, now add turmeric powder, salt, red chilli powder and mix well.
  4. Lastly add cooked alasandalu and stir-cook for a couple of mins on low-medium flame and then transfer it into a serving bowl.
  5. Now carrot bobbarlu dry curry is ready to serve, serve hot with rice or roti.
