Carrot Kurma Recipe / Carrot Gravy Curry - how to make Carrot Kurma

Ingredients

  • 2 no Carrots
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 1 Tomato chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1" Cinnamon stick
  • 2 Elaichi pods
  • 4 Cloves
  • 3 sp Oil
  • Coriander Leaves
  • For Grind :
  • 2 sp grated Dry Coconut
  • 1 sp Poppy Seeds
  • 2 inches Ginger Piece
  • 3 Green Chillies
  • 2 Garlic flakes

Instructions

  1. Wash, peel and cut carrots into small pieces and cook them, meanwhile grind above paste ingredients into a fine paste and keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add cinnamon, elaichi, cloves and fry for 30 secs, then add onions and fry, when done add chopped tomatoes and fry until the tomatoes are mushy.
  3. Add salt, turmeric powder, cooked carrot, ground masala, chopped coriander leaves and stir.
  4. Add 1/4 cup of water and let it cook for a couple of minutes, once done remove from the heat.
  5. Transfer into a serving bowl and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  6. Now carrot kurma is ready to serve, serve with chapati.
