Chamadumpala Ulli Karam Fry / Taro Root Onion Fry

Ingredients

  • 1/4 kg Chamadumpalu/Taro root
  • 2 Onion roughly chopped
  • 1/4 sp Cumin seeds
  • 11/2 sp Red Chilli powder
  • 1 pinch Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 sp Oil
  • Curry Leaves
  • Coriander Leaves

Instructions

  1. Wash and cook chamadumpalu & let it cool for few mins.
  2. Once done remove the skin and chop them into cubes & keep aside.
  3. Meanwhile grind onion & red chilli powder into a course paste.
  4. Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds & fry for 30 secs.
  5. Add ground paste and fry until the raw smell goes.
  6. Add cooked chamadumpalu, turmeric powder, curry leaves, salt & mix it well.
  7. Fry for a few mins and remove from the fire and transfer into a serving bowl.
  8. Chamadumpala ulli karam fry is ready, garnish with coriander leaves, serve with hot rice along with sambar, rasam.
