Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup dry Green Peas
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 1 Tomato finely chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • 1" Cinnamon stick
  • 2 Cardamom
  • 4 Cloves
  • 3 sp Oil
  • 2 sp Cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander Leaves
  • For Paste :
  • 2 sp grated Fresh Coconut
  • 1 sp Poppy Seeds / Gasagasalu
  • 1 sp chopped Ginger
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 4 Garlic flakes
  • few Coriander Leaves

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak green peas for 5 to 6 hours and pressure cook, meanwhile, grind above paste ingredients into a fine paste and keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds, hing, cinnamon, elaichi, cloves and fry for 30 secs, add onions and fry, when done add chopped tomatoes and fry until soft.
  3. Add turmeric powder, ground masala and cook for a couple of mins on low flame, now add the boiled peas along with water and mix it well, now add red chilli powder, salt and mix well.
  4. Let it cook on a medium flame until it comes into a thick gravy, lastly add cream, chopped coriander leaves and cook another 1 more min, then remove from the heat.
  5. Transfer into a serving bowl and garnish with fresh coriander leaves, now green peas kurma / gravy curry is ready to serve, serve with chapati or paratha.
