Godhuma Rava Pappu Pongali / Cracked Wheat Ven Pongal / Wheat Suji Khichdi

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cracked Wheat/Godhuma Rava
  • 1/4 cup Moong Dal
  • 1 sp Pepper powder
  • few Whole Pepper Corn
  • 1/2 sp Cumin seeds
  • few Cashew Nuts
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • Salt to taste
  • few Curry leaves
  • 3 sp Oil/Ghee

Instructions

  1. Combine godhuma rava, moong dal, wash well and pressure cook with 4 cups of water, when done turn off the heat and allow it cool. Once cooled remove the lid add enough salt and mix well.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add pepper powder, pepper corn, cumin seeds, cashew nuts, hing and fry. Once done curry leaves and fry for a while on low flame, then pour the fried mixture over the wheat rava pongal and mix until well combined.
  3. Now cracked wheat ven pongal is ready to serve, serve hot with chutney or chutney powder along with ghee.
