Ivy Gourd Green Peas Curry / Dondakaya Batani Kura / Tindora Peas Dry Curry

Ingredients

  • 150 gr Tindora / Dondakayalu
  • 1/4 cup Green Peas / Fresh Peas
  • 2 sp grated fresh Coconut
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop dondakayalu / ivy gourd into thin long pieces.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry.
  3. Once done add curry leaves, peas and stir.
  4. Sprinkle little water and stir, cook with cover for 2 or 3 mins.
  5. Then add chopped ivy gourd, turmeri powder, salt and mix well.
  6. Add a little more water if required, cover with a lid for 10 to 15 mins or till cooked.
  7. Finally add grated coconut, red chilli powder & stir it well.
  8. Continue to cook for 1 or 2 mins on low flame and turn off the heat.
  9. Now dondakaya batani kura is ready, serve with rice or roti.
