Ingredients

  • 1 cup Jonna Rava/Jowar Rava/Sorghum Suji
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 1 Green Chilli chopped
  • 1 sp chopped Ginger
  • 2 cups Water
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • few Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Grind White sorghum into a coarse powder like suji and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add chopped green chillies, ginger, curry leaves and fry for 30 secs.
  2. Then add chopped onion and stir-fry until the onions are soft then pour water add salt and allow it to a boil.
  3. Once the water start to boiling pour jowar rava and mix it well, cover with a lid and keep cooking on low flame till the jonna rava is completely cooked.
  4. Then turn off the flame and let it leave for a couple of mins, now jonna upma is ready to serve, serve with chutney powder or pickle.
