Katte Pongali Recipe / Ven Pongal / Rice Moong Dal Pongal - Navaratri Naivedyam
Ingredients
- 1 cup Rice
- 1/2 cup Moong Dal
- 4 cups Water
- enough Salt
- 1 sp Black Pepper Powder
- 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1 pinch Inguva
- few chopped Cashew nuts
- Curry Leaves
- 4 sp Ghee
Instructions
- Wash rice, moong dal together. Add water, enough salt and pressure cook upto 4 whistles.
- Heat ghee in a small fry pan add cumin seeds, pepper powder, inguva and fry, then add chopped cashew nuts, curry leaves and fry.
- Pour this over the cooked rice mixture and mix well, now Navaratri Prasadam - Katte Pongali is ready to naivedyam.
