Kodo Millet Lemon Bath/Arikalu Nimmakaya Pulihora – Millet Recipes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Kodo Millet/Arikelu
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped lengthwise
  • 3 tbsp of Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • fistful Peanut
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • few Curry Leaves

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak kodo millet for 10 mins and then cook in a rice cooker with 2 cups of water, once done turn off and leave it to cool.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add chopped green chillies, curry leaves and stir for a while, add turmeric powder and stir, turn off the flame and add the fried popu to cooked kodo millet rice, add salt, lemon juice and mix thoroughly. Now kodo millet/arikalu lemon bath is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve.
