Mawa Gujiya / Kova Kajjikayalu – How to prepare kova gujiya - Festival Recipes
Ingredients
- 1 small cup All purpose Flour/Maida
- 1 pinch Cooking Soda
- 2 sp Ghee
- Oil for deep fry
- 1/4 cup Sweet Kohya/Mawa/Kova
- 2 sp chopped Dry Fruits
- 1 pinch Elaichi Powder
- 1 small cup Sugar
- same cup Water
- crushed Dry Fruits

Instructions
- Take plain flour add cooking soda, ghee and mix together, then add enough water and make a soft dough & keep aside for 15 mins, meanwhile, in a small bowl combine above the stuffing ingredients mix well & set aside.
- Mix well and divide the dough into 6 equal balls and keep aside, take one dough ball and press it into small puri & place 2 sp of stuffing in the center and fold it to other side & make into a gujiya, then press the edges with a fork. Repeat with the remaining dough balls.
- Heat oil in a pan, when hot deep fry the gujiyas over medium heat until light golden brown and remove from the hot oil and keep aside. Boil sugar with a cup of water in a bowl, stirring constantly until it comes one string consistency, then dip this fried gujiys in the sugar syrup one by one and garnish with chopped dry fruits.
