Ingredients

  • 1 Drumstick/Munakkaya
  • 1 small cup Urad Dal Fryums/Minapa Vadiyalu
  • small Lime Sized Tamarind
  • 1 Green Chilli chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 sp grated Jaggery
  • 1 sp Rice Flour
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/8 sp Methi Seeds
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • chopped Coriander Leaves
  • few Curry Leaves

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak tamarind with one cup of water and keep aside, wash and chop drumstick and cook with enough water, once done add tamarind juice, green chillies, turmeric, red chilli powder, salt, jaggery, curry leaves, chopped coriander leaves and let it boil.
  2. Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan add urad dal badi & deep fry them till golden brown, then remove from oil and add in drumstick stew. Mix rice flour in little water and add in boiled stew, stir well & allow it to boil for 2 mins on low-medium flame.
  3. Heat oil in a small frying pan add popu ingredients and fry, when done add it to boiled stew & mix well, now munakkaya vadiyalu pulusu is ready, serve hot with rice.
