Spinach Dal with Moong Dal / Palakura Pesara Pappu / Palak Dal with Moong Dal

Ingredients

  • 1 small cup Moong Dal
  • 1 cup chopped Spinach / Palakura
  • 4 chopped Green Chillies
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • 1 pinch Inguva
  • Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash moong dal well and cook on stove top with two cups of water.
  2. When it 3/4 done add chopped spinach, green chillies and cook.
  3. Once done add salt, turmeric powder and stir well.
  4. Then mash the cooked dal with the back of a ladle and cook.
  5. Let it cook for a couple of mins, then remove from the flame.
  6. Heat oil in a small pan add popu ingredients and fry.
  7. Add curry leaves and fry for 30 sec, then add fried popu to cooked dal.
  8. Now moong dal palakura pappu is ready to serve, serve with rice and rotis.
