Ingredients

  • 1 Munakkaya/Drumstick
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies Chopped
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Curry Leaves
  • 1 Tomato chopped
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 sp Oil
  • Salt to taste

For Paste :

  • 1/2 sp Sesame Seeds
  • 1 sp Peanuts/Pallilu
  • 2 Elaichi pods
  • 1/2″ Dalchini/Cinnamon

3 Cloves/Lavangalu

Instructions

  • Wash and cut munakkaya into small pieces, after that cook them with little salt and keep aside.
  • Fry sesame seeds, peanuts, clove, elaichi and dalchini slightly with out oil remove from flame, allow it cool, once cooled grind them into smooth paste along with chopped tomato.
  • Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds and fry, next add chopped onion, green chilli pieces, curry leaves and fry until the onions turns soft.
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and stir well, cook it on low flame till the raw smell goes out. Add in ground paste, cooked munakkaya mukkalu and mix well.
  • Add milk, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and stir well, continue to cook on low flame for a couple of mins.
  •  Lastly add chopped coriander leaves and mix well, now spicy munakkaya kurma  is ready. Turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl and serve with rice and rotis.
