Raw Tamarind and Coriander Leaves Chutney / Chintakaya Kothimeera Pachadi

Ingredients

  • 6-7 tender Raw Tamarind/Pachi Chintakayalu
  • handful chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 4 Green Chillies cut it in the middle
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Chutney Popu :
  • 4-5 Red Chillies
  • 1/4 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Methi Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Coriander Seeds(optional)
  • 2 sp Oil
  • For Popu :
  • 1/4 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1 pinch Inguva
  • 1 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Clean and wash chintakayalu thoroughly and cut them into small pieces and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add chutney ingredients and fry, once done add green chillies and fry for 30 secs then remove from the pan.
  3. In a mixer jar add raw tamarind and grind into rough paste, remove any seeds from the ground tamarind, then add turmeric powder, salt, fried chutney ingredients and grind.
  4. Then add 2 sp water if required, lastly add chopped coriander leaves and blend well, remove from the jar and place into a small bowl.
  5. Heat oil in a small frying pan add popu ingredients and fry, when done add it to ground chutney and mix well.
  6. Now raw tamarind coriander leaves chutney/chintakaya kothimeera pachadi is ready to serve, serve it with hot rice and ghee.
