Suji Halwa Burelu / Semolina Purnalu / Rava Burelu - Festival Recipes
Ingredients
- 1 cup Rice
- 1/2 cup Urad Dal
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 cup Suji/Semolina/Rava
- 11/2 cups Sugar
- 1 pinch Elaichi Powder
- 1 sp Ghee
- 2 1/2 cups Water
- Oil for deep frying

Instructions
- Wash and soak rice, urad dal for one hour, after that grind into a fine paste like thick dosa batter, add little salt and mix well, keep aside for 30 mins.
- Boil water and sugar in a bowl, once done add rava, elaichi powder, stir well and continue cooking until it thickens then add 1 sp ghee & mix well, turn off the heat and allow it to cool. When the stuffing is cool divide into small lemon sized balls and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan for deep fry, when hot dip the prepared balls in the ground batter & fry them in hot oil until light golden brown then take them out and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Repeat the process with the remaining balls. Now Ugadi special recipe suji halwa purnalu/burelu are ready to serve.
