Sweet Potato Dal Recipe / Chilagadadumpa Tiyya Pappu

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Toor Dal
  • 2 nos Sweet Potatoes
  • 2 Green Chillies Chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1 pinch Hingh
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli Crocked
  • Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash, peel and cut sweet potato into small cubes.
  2. Wash toor dal and pressure cook along with green chillies and sweet potato pieces.
  3. When it cool remove the lid and mix well.
  4. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry.
  5. When they splutter add curry leaves, cooked dal and stir well.
  6. Add salt, turmeric powder and cook on low flame for a couple of mins.
  7. Now sweet potato dal/chilagadadumpa pappu is ready, turn off the flame.
  8. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve with hot rice and pickle.
