Tomato Pudina Pulav/Tomato Mint Rice – how to make Tomato Mint Pulav

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1 cup fresh Pudina/Mint Leaves
  • 1 cup Tomato Puree
  • 2 Green Chillies slit lengthwise
  • 1 sp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 small piece Cinnamon
  • 2 Elaichi Pods
  • 2 Cloves
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak rice for 10 mins and keep aside. Wash and chop pudina into small pieces. Heat oil in a pan add bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon, elaichi pods and fry for 5 secs, add chopped green chillies, onion and fry until soft. then add ginger garlic paste and fry well until the raw smell goes.
  2. Add tomato puree and cook for a min, now add turmeric powder, chopped mint leaves and stir-cook for 5 min on low-medium flame.
  3. Then add rice and mix every thing well, fry it for 2 mins on low heat. Transfer the whole content to a rice cooker bowl with 2 cups of water, enough salt and set to cook.
  4. When done mix well, now tomato pudina pulav is ready, transfer to a serving bowl and serve hot with raita.
