Bobbarlu and Tomato Rice / Alasandalu Tomato Pulav / Lobia Tomato Bath

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1/4 cup Bobbarlu/Lobia
  • 2 Tomatoes chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1 Potato chopped
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 1 sp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Curry Leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak rice for 15 mins and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds and fry for 30 secs.
  3. Then add chopped onion, green chillies, curry leaves and fry till soft.
  4. Now add in ginger garlic paste and stir, add chopped potato and soaked black eyed peas and mix well.
  5. Add tomato pieces, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander leaves and stir.
  6. Let it cook for a couple of mins then add fried tomato mixture to soaked rice and pressure cook.
  7. When done remove the lid and mix well. Now lobia tomato rice is ready to serve, serve hot with onion raitha.
