Toor Dal Onion Chutney / Ullipaya Kandi Pachadi / Arhar Dal and Onion Chutney
Ingredients
- 1 small cup Toor Dal
- 1/2 small lime size Tamarind
- 1 Onion roughly chopped
- 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
- 4 Red Chilles
- 1 sp Ghee
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1 crocked Red Chilli
- 1 sp Oil

Instructions
- Heat ghee in a pan add toor dal, red chillies and fry on low flame. Saute them until golden brown in color then remove from the pan and allow it to cool.
- Once cooled grind the fried toor dal mixture along with cumin seeds, tamarind, salt by adding enough water into a coarse paste.
- Now add chopped onion and grind it slightly, then transfer into a serving bowl. Heat oil in a pan add popu and fry, once done add it to ground chutney. Now toor dal onion chutney/ullipaya kandi pachadi is ready to serve, serve with hot rice and ghee.
