Ullipaya Pulav / Onion Pulav - How to prepare Onion Pulav
Ingredients
- 1 cup Rice
- 2 Onion finely chopped
- 2 Green Chillies chopped
- 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
- 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
- 1/2 sp Coriander Powder
- 1/2 sp Garam Masala Powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1" inch Cinnamon
- 2 Elaichi Pods
- 3 Cloves
- few chopped Coriander Leaves
- 3 sp Oil
Instructions
- Wash and soak rice for 10 mins and keep aside, heat oil in a pan add whole garam masala, cumin seeds and fry for 30 secs, then add chopped onion, green chillies and fry.
- Fry them till they turn light brown in color, now add rice, red chilli, turmeric, garam masala, coriander powders and stir-fry for 1 min on low flame.
- Transfer the whole content to a rice cooker bowl with 2 cups of water, enough salt and set to cook.
- When done add coriander leaves and mix well, now onion pulav is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot with raita.
