Undrallu Senaga Pappu Payasam / Rice Balls Chana Dal Kheer - Vinayaka Chavithi Recipes
Ingredients
- 1 cup Rice Flour
- 11/2 cup Water
- 1 sp Ghee
- fistful Chana Dal
- 1 small cup grated Jaggery
- 1 small cup Milk
- 1 pinch Elaichi Powder
- few Coconut Pieces
- 2 sp Cashew Nut Pieces
- 2 sp Raisins
- 2 sp Ghee

Instructions
- Put water in a bowl add ghee into it and bring it to a boil, once it starts boiling reduce the flame then add the rice flour gradually and mix well, turn off the flame and allow it to cool with cover.
- When done, knead it well and make small sized balls from the dough as shown in the picture bellow. Now undrallu/rice balls are ready for payasam/kheer. In the meantime wash chana dal and pressure cook for 2 whistles and keep aside.
- Boil jaggery with 1/2 cup of water on medium flame in a bowl, once the jaggery melts completely, then filter it to remove impurities and again boil, now add in prepared rice balls and cook them for a couple of mins.
- Then add cooked chana dal, elaichi powder and stir-cook for 2-3 mins on low flame, now another heat fry dry fruits in ghee.
- Lastly add fried dry fruits, milk and mix every thing well, keep on low flame for 1 min with stirring, turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl. Now undrallu chana dal payasam/kheer is ready as naivedyam for Lord Ganesha. serve this kheer warm or cool.
