Ingredients

  • 1 cup Urad Dal
  • 4 cups Milk
  • 11/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 pinch Elachi Powder
  • 4 threads Saffron
  • Silver Leaf
  • Oil for deep fry

Instructions

  1. Soak urad dal in water for 3-4 hours, then drain the water.
  2. Take a bowl with 1 cup of water and add 5 sp sugar mix well and keep aside.
  3. Pour milk in a non-stick pan and bring to a boil for 15 mins. Simmer over a medium flame, stirring continuously.
  4. Once the milk reduces to half, then add sugar, elaichi powder to it and boil until the sugar completely dissolves in the milk and keep aside.
  5. In the meantime, grind urad dal into a fine paste like "meduvada" batter and keep aside.
  6. Heat oil in a khadai, take small portion of batter and make a round ball, carefully drop them into hot oil, fry them until light golden brown in color.
  7. Take them out and dip sugar water in 1 min and press lightly and then put them in a serving bowl and pour milk on the jamoons.
  8. Garnish with silver leaf and saffron, tasty tasty urad dal milk jamoons are ready to serve.
