Wheat Talikalu Moong Dal Milk Pudding / Godhuma Talikalu Pesara Payasam

Ingredients

  • 1 small cup Wheat Flour
  • 2 sp Moong Dal
  • 4 sp fresh Coconut (grated)
  • 11/2 small cup grated Jaggery
  • 1 pinch Elaichi Powder
  • few chopped Dry fruits
  • 2 sp Ghee
  • 1 cup Milk

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl add wheat flour in it and add enough water and make a soft dough like chapathi dough and keep it aside. Divide the dough into small balls from it and roll them out into thin long strings (talikalu), sprinkle dry wheat flour on the strings if it is sticking.
  2. Take a pan add 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil, then add wheat flour talikalu into it and allow it cook till it becomes soft. Meanwhile, cook moong dal with 1 cup of water, when it is cooked properly add coconut, jaggery and continue to cook for a couple of mins.
  3. Then add cooked talikalu, dry fruits fried in ghee and add the remaining ghee in it, now add elaichi powder, hot milk and stir it gently. Turn of the flame and serve as naivedyam to Ganesh during Vinayaka Chavithi. It is very delicious pudding, serve hot or cold.
