Whole Green Moong Dal Paratha / Sabut Mung Beans Paratha

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Wheat Flour
  • Salt to taste
  • 5 sp Oil/ghee
  • enough Water
  • 2 sp Wheat Flour for dusting
  • For Stuffing :
  • 1/2 cup Whole Green Moong Dal/Pesalu
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 2 sp chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 1/2 sp Garam Masala Powder
  • enough Salt

Instructions

  1. Wash green moong dal thoroughly and soak in water for 3 hours after that cook them until very soft.
  2. Meanwhile, prepare a soft dough with wheat flour, 1 sp oil enough water, salt. And then keep aside with cover for 20 mins.
  3. Combine and grind coriander leaves, green chillies, garam masala into a coarse paste and add it to cooked whole moong dal.
  4. Add in salt, turmeric powder and mash it well, then divide the moong dal paste into 3 lime sized balls, now stuffing is ready.
  5. Divide the dough into 3 equal balls, flatten one ball of the dough and place the stuffing in the center and carefully close it from all sides together.
  6. Take one stuffed dough ball and apply little wheat flour on both sides and roll it gently into a round shaped chapati with a rolling pin.
  7. Heat a thick flat pan, once hot put the paratha on it & cook for 30 secs and then flip the other side, apply ghee/oil to the paratha and cook both sides well.
  8. Once done remove from the pan, repeat with the remaining dough balls and filling, now whole moong dal parathas are ready, serve hot with fresh yogurt and pickle.
