Spicy Idly Karam Powder with Flax Seeds / Spicy Aviseginjala Karam Podi
Ingredients
- 1 small cup Urad Dal
- 1/2 small cup Chana Dal
- 2 sp White Sesame Seeds
- 2 sp Flax Seeds
- 2 inches Tamarind Flake
- 10 Red Chillies
- few Curry Leaves
- 1 pinch Inguva
- 1/2 sp Sugar
- Salt to taste
- 2 sp Oil
Instructions
- Heat a pan and dry roast sesame seeds till a nice aroma comes out.
- Then transfer the toasted sesame seeds to a plate and let them cool.
- Add flax seeds to the same pan and fry, once done remove from the pan.
- Fry the dals separately with little oil until it turns golden brown and transfer into the plate.
- In the same pan fry red chillies, curry leaves separately until done.
- Grind above fried ingredients along with salt, sugar, hing and tamarind into a coarse powder.
- Now spicy tasty idly karam podi is ready to serve, serve along with a dollop of ghee.
