Ingredients

    Stuffing Ingredients :
  • 1 cup Rice Rava Pongali
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1/2 sp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 sp Amchur Powder or Lime Juice
  • chopped Coriander Leaves
  • chopped Curry Leaves
  • little Salt
  • Oil for deep fry
  • For Batter :
  • 4 sp Besan
  • 1 sp Rice Flour
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • enough Salt

Instructions

  1. Place the batter ingredients in a mixing bowl and add enough water to make a thick batter and keep aside.
  2. Put stuffing ingredients (expect oil) in mixing bowl and mix very well.
  3. Divide the pongal dough into small lemon sized balls and keep aside.
  4. Dip the balls in batter till completely coated, then drop them carefully in hot oil.
  5. Fry them until they are golden brown and remove from the pan.
  6. Pongali bondalu are ready, place them on a paper towel and serve immediately with any chutney.
