Allam Pachadi Recipe / Ginger Chutney - how to make Andhra style Allam Pachadi
Ingredients
- 7 or 8 dry Red Chillies
- 2 inches Ginger piece
- small lime sized Tamarind
- 2 sp grated Jaggery
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 sp Methi Seeds
- 1 pinch Inguva
- Salt to taste
- 2 sp Oil
Instructions
- Wash and soak tamarind in little water and keep aside, wash, peel and chop ginger into small pieces.
- Heat oil in a pan add red chillies, mustard, methi seeds, inguva and fry, when done remove from the heat and let it cool.
- First grind fried popu along with soaked tamarind, turmeric powder, salt, chopped ginger into a coarse paste with little water if required.
- Add grated jaggery and grind it together, now ginger chutney is ready, put it in a small bowl and serve with hot rice and ghee.
