Aloo Pulav Recipe / Potato Pulao / Bangaladumpa Pulav

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Rice
  • 2 big size Potatoes
  • 2 Onion chopped
  • 4 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 sp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 4 cups Water
  • 2 sp Curd/Yogurt
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 sp Oil
  • Curry Leaves
  • Coriander Leaves

Instructions

  1. Wash rice and keep aside, wash, peel and chop potatoes into small pieces.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add onion, green chilli pieces, curry leaves and fry for a while.
  3. Once done add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and fry for 1 min.
  4. Then add aloo pieces, curd, garam masala powder and stir-fry a couple of mins.
  5. Add in rice and fry for 2 mins, then add water and enough salt.
  6. Transfer them into a pressure cooker bowl or a rice cooker bowl and cook.
  7. When done remove from the flame and transfer into a serving bowl. Now Aloo pulao is ready garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with raita.
