Beans Moong Dal Poriyal / Beans Pesara Curry

Ingredients

  • 1/4 kg Beans
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 2 sp grated Coconut / Pachi Kobbari
  • 2 sp Moong Dal / Pesara Pappu
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut beans into small pieces, soak moong dal for 5 mins.
  2. Cook beans on stove top for 10 mins, next add moong dal & cook.
  3. When done remove from fire and strain.
  4. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry for 2 mins.
  5. Next add curry leaves, green chillies, onions, turmeric powder and stir.
  6. Fry it till the onions are soft then add cooked beans mixture & salt.
  7. Add grated coconut & stir well, fry for couple of mins with cover.
  8. Then remove the lid & stir 1 to 2 mins and turn off the heat.
  9. Now beans onion pesara pappu kura is ready to serve.
  10. Serve with hot white rice.
