Kakarakaya Palli Vepudu / Bitter Gourd Peanut Fry / Karela Fry with Peanut

Ingredients

  • 1/4 kg Kakarakayalu/Bitter Gourd
  • 1 pinch Turmeric powder
  • 1 small cup Peanuts/Pallilu
  • 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry leaves
  • 4 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut kakarakayalu into small pieces and keep in a strainer, add turmeric powder, salt and mix well, let it leave for 15 min, then squeeze them and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in khadai add squeezed bitter gourd pieces and fry on low flame, keep stirring in between, when it's 3/4 done add peanuts and fry.
  3. Now add red chilli powder, curry leaves and fry for a couple of mins, then turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl.
  4. Now Kakarakaya palli vepudu is ready to serve, serve with sambar and rasam.
