Cracked Wheat Sweet Pongal / Godhuma Rava Bellam Pongali / Broken Wheat Sweet Pongal
Ingredients
- 1 cup Cracked Wheat/Godhuma Rava
- 3/4 cup grated Jaggery
- 1 cup Milk
- 2 cups Water
- 1 pinch Elaichi Powder
- few Cashew Nuts
- 2 tbsp Ghee
Instructions
- Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a khadai add the cashew nuts and fry light brown in color, then remove from the pan & keep them aside.
- Then add godhuma rava and fry on low flame until it comes good aroma.
- Combine rava, milk, water and pressure cook up to 3 whistles, keep it aside and allow it to cool.
- In a sauce pan add jaggery, 1/2 cup of water and make a thick syrup, next add in cooked rava and mix well, if needed add some more water.
- Add elaichi powder, ghee and cook on low flame for a couple of mins, then turn of the heat.
- Now naivedyam pongal is ready, transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with cashew pieces and offer to Goddess Lakshmi Devi.
