Mango Sambar Recipe / Mamidi Pandu Pulusu / Andhra Special Mango Sambar
Ingredients
- 1 Mango/Mamidi pandu
- 1 cup Toor dal
- Lemon sized Tamarind
- 2 Green chillies chopped
- 1 pinch Turmeric powder
- 1/2 sp Red chilli powder
- 1 sp Sambar powder
- 1 pinch Inguva/Hing
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 sp Mustard seeds
- 1/2 sp Cumin seeds
- 1 Red chilli crocked
- 1 pinch Hingu
- Coriander Leaves
- Curry leaves
- 2 sp Oil

Instructions
- Clean and soak tamarind in water and keep it aside, wash mango and cut into big pieces.
- Pressure cook toor dal up to 3 whistles, turn of the heat and let it cool, when done mash well.
- Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, green chillies and fry. .
- Next add two cups of tamarind extract, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and chopped mango pieces.
- Allow it to a boil for 5 mins on medium flame, now add mashed dal, sambar powder, inguva and stir well, cook it for a couple of mins.
- When done turn off the heat and transfer into a serving bowl, now mamidi pandu pulusu is ready to serve, serve with steamed white rice and ghee.
