Curry Leaves Rice Recipe / Karivepaku Annam / Spicy Curry Leaves Rice

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Cooked Rice
  • 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Curry Leaves Powder
  • 1 cup Curry Leaves
  • 1 tsp Chana Dal
  • 1 tsp Urad Dal
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander Seeds
  • 5 or 6 Peppar Corns
  • 2 Red Chillies
  • 1/2 inch Tamarind
  • 1/2 sp Oil
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • fistful Peanuts
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Place cooked rice in a bowl and keep aside for cool. Heat oil in a pan add powder ingredients except curry leaves and fry on medium flame.
  2. Fry them till they become light brown color, then transfer to a plate, now add curry leaves to the same pan and stir-fry until crispy,
  3. Once cooled, grind them into a coarse powder along with tamarind, salt and keep aside.
  4. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, turmeric powder and mix well.
  5. Now add in cooked rice, ground curry leaves powder, enough salt and mix everything well, let it fry for 1 min on low flame, after that turn of the heat.
  6. Now Curry leaves rice is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve with fresh curd.
