Dhaniyala Karam Recipe / Spicy Coriander Powder / Dhaniyala Podi
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Coriander Seeds
- 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1/4 sp Methi Seeds
- 11/2 sp Chana Dal
- 1 sp Urad Dal
- small piece Tamarind
- 6 or 7 Dry Red Chillies
- few Curry Leaves
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 sp Oil
Instructions
- Heat oil in a frying pan add red chillies, chana dal, urad dal, cumin, methi seeds and fry them for a min, then add coriander seeds, curry leaves and stir.
- Fry them until they become light brown in color, then turn off the flame and allow it to cool, when done grind them into a coarse powder along with tamarind and enough salt.
- Now dhaniyala karam podi is ready, transfer it to a clean bottle & store, serve with rice, idly, dosa and pongal along with ghee.
