Ingredients

  • 1 bowl Puffed Rice/Borugulu
  • 1 Tomato finely chopped
  • 1 Carrot grated
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 2 Red Chillies crocked
  • Curry Leaves
  • Coriander Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Take a wide bowl with water and add the puffed rice, soak for a while and then squeeze out the water and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, then add chopped onion, green chillies, curry leaves and stir.
  3. Once done add tomato pieces and cook for 1 min, now add grated carrot, turmeric powder and mix it well, cover and cook until soft.
  4. Then add puffed rice, salt and mix well, add coriander leaves and cook on low flame with cover for 1-2 mins.
  5. Tomato maramaralu upma is ready, transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
