Dosakaya Tomato Pappu Recipe / Yellow Cucumber Tomato Dal - Dal Recipes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Toor Dal
  • 1 cup Yellow Cucumber pieces
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1 Tomato chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 sp Tamarind pulp
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 crocked Red Chilli
  • 1 pinch Inguva/Hing
  • Curry leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Pressure cook toor dal, chopped cucumber, tomato, green chilies and tamarind flake with 11/2 cups water for 3 whistles. Once done turn off the flame and allow it to cool, then mash it well.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry. Once done add curry leaves, cucumber dal mix, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and mix well.
  3. Let it cook for 5 mins on low to medium flame. Now dosakaya tomato pappu is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve with rice and roti.
