Ingredients

  • 1 small cup chopped Dosakaya Mukkalu/Yellow Cucumber
  • 1 Tomato chopped
  • 3 Green Chillies
  • fistful Coriander Leaves
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1 inch Tamarind Flake
  • Salt to taste

For Chutney Popu :

  • 1/2 sp Coriander Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Methi Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 3 Red Chillies
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • 3 sp Oil

Instructions

Wash cucumber well, peel off the skin and cut into 2 pieces, then remove the seeds and chop into small pieces. Heat oil in a pan add chutney popu ingredients and fry, when they splutter remove from the pan to a bowl. To the same pan add chopped cucumber pieces, green chillies and fry. 

Fry them in oil for 1 to 2 mins then add chopped tomato and stir-fry for a couple of mins, then add in chopped coriander, tamarind flake and cook with a cover until done. Once cooked soft, then remove from the flame and let it cool completely. Once done blend green, red chillies, fried popu ingredients, tamarind along with salt and turmeric powder. Then add in remaining ingredients and pulse coarsely. Now dosakaya tomato pachadi/spicy cucumber tomato chutney is ready, transfer to a bowl and serve with rice or roti.
