Dried Green Peas Urad Dal Fritters / Pattani Minapa Pappu Vadalu - Snacks

Ingredients

  • 1 small cup Dried Green Peas/Endu Batanilu
  • 1/2 small cup Urad Dal
  • 2 Green Chillies finely chopped
  • 1 big Onion finely chopped
  • chopped Coriander Leaves
  • chopped Curry Leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep fry

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak green peas in water for 5-6 hours and keep aside, wash and soak urad dal for 2 hours. Once done, drain and grind the soaked green peas, urad dal separately into a coarse paste without adding any water.
  2. To this add above remaining ingredients except oil and mix together, if needed add a little water & mix well, now vada batter is ready, take lemon sized balls from the batter and flatten them slightly.
  3. Meantime, heat oil in a pan for deep fry, when hot drop slowly into the hot oil and deep fry them till golden brown in color.Then remove from the pan & place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  4. Now dried green peas fritters/batani vadalu are ready to serve, serve hot with tomato sauce and a cup of coffee or tea.
