Cauliflower Dal Recipe / Simple Cauliflower Pappu / Gobi Dal

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Toor Dal
  • 1 cup Cauliflower Florets
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 1 Tomato chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 2 sp Tamarind Pulp
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 2 Red Chillies
  • 4 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 pinch Inguva
  • chopped Coriander Leaves
  • Curry Leaves

Instructions

  1. Cut the cauliflower into small florets, wash well and soak them in salt ( little salt) water for 5 mins after that chop them into small pieces. Wash toor dal and add chopped cauliflower, tomato, onion, green chillies and pressure cook upto 3 whistles.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, garlic cloves and stir, then add in cooked cauliflower dal mixture, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, tamarind pulp and mix well, add chopped coriander leaves and cook for a couple of mins and then turn off the flame.
  3. Now cauliflower dal is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve with rice or roti.
