Ingredients

  • 1 cup Jonna Atukulu/Jowar Flakes
  • 1 cup fresh Curd
  • 2 Green Chilies finely chopped
  • 2 inches Ginger finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil
  • For Garnish :
  • 2 sp pomegranate
  • Tulasidalam / Basil Leaves

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak jowar flakes in water for 1 min and squeeze out all the water and keep aside in a plate.
  2. Take 1 cup fresh curd in a mixing bowl add salt, water and whisk well, add squeezed jonna atukulu and mix.
  3. Heat oil in a small frying add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, chopped ginger, green chilies and stir for 30 sec.
  4. Add it to mixing bowl and mix well, transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with pomegranate and basil leave.
  5. Now jona atukulu daddojanam is ready, offer it as naivedyam to Lord Sri krishna on this janmashtami occasion.
